2nd Annual Turkey Trot

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving! Kent and I decided (well, just me) that we needed to start some traditions for our own family of 5. Last year, I ran in a 2 mile race on Thanksgiving morning called the "Turkey Trot". We thought (I thought) that it would be so fun as a family to run together on Thanksgiving morning in the 30 degree weather. We would all have matching t-shirts and just giggle and have a blast together running or 2 miles, ha ha! The only one giggling was me while I was trying to find us all gloves (that matched), jackets, warm pants (not to thick but warm), several shirts to layer, and hats. Did everyone eat breakfast, get their tennis shoes on and ready to leave by 8:15 to get there? We made it! and yes, I had such a great time. I think the rest of the family did too. We discovered that we may have a little runner on our hands. Gage blew past Keeley, Blake and me. I ran with one hand pushing the stroller and Keeley wanted to hold the other one. We couldn't catch him. He didn't stop until he had already ran a mile and ran 1/2 of the second mile. I think he loved it. They had an awards ceremony and gave the kids medals and that was the topic of Thanksgiving. We went to Levelland to eat at my Mema and Daddy J's house. The food was perfect-We just showed up and sat down. You can't beat that. I will do cleanup duty ANYTIME!!!!
